The Failed MMR Vaccine on College Campuses

November 19 2014 138Most states have enacted laws requiring college students to obtain the MMR vaccine in order to attend their universities. This vaccine allegedly offers protection against the diseases measles, mumps and rubella. The effectiveness of Merck’s MMR vaccine against mumps has been questioned by many scientists.

Meanwhile, the past five years have witnessed skyrocketing increases of mumps outbreaks across college campuses, among those students vaccinated, providing further evidence of the MMR vaccine’s failure. The MMR vaccine has been associated with injuries and deaths, while the diseases of measles and mumps which it targets are generally mild and resolve on their own.

To add to the insanity of these vaccine policies, campus authorities have urged students to receive booster MMR shots, after the failed MMR vaccines have resulted in mumps outbreaks among those vaccinated. This combination of events begs the question of whether the MMR college vaccine policies make any sense and what better alternatives exist. [1-3] Continue reading

Does the MMR Vaccine Cause Autism?

Does the MMR vaccine cause autism? This is the essential question that each parent should ponder prior to injecting their child with the MMR vaccination.
The answer is largely divided between conventional medicine and the holistic community. Evidence supporting the claim that the MMR vaccine causes autism includes parental reports, court case verdicts, multiple research studies and animal research. Deniers of the connection refer to vaccine studies which are considered flawed or biased by those in the holistic health community. [1, 2]

In the end, each person must decide for themselves what to believe. Continue reading

Why the Documentary Vaxxed is so Controversial and Important to Support

Recently Dr. Andrew Wakefield directed the documentary Vaxxed to educate the public about autism in general, and more specifically to address the coverup of the 2004 research connecting the MMR vaccine to autism. Gastroenterologist Wakefield has become a champion for the autism community, which stands behind Wakefield’s dedication and work to help the growing numbers of children suffering from autism. Dr. Wakefield’s work has focused on alleviating the gastrointestinal distress often accompanying patients of autism. [1]

The movie Vaxxed is controversial because the coverup of the MMR vaccine connection to autism has far-reaching implications for the very deep corruption in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the thousands of children who have suffered from a devastating disease that could have been avoided. Discrediting this information and keeping it from the public’s attention is paramount for the pharmaceutical companies that profit from vaccines. [2,3]

Dr. Andrew Wakefield: Hero or Quack?

The answer to the question of whether Dr. Andrew Wakefield is a hero or an enemy to modern science depends largely on one’s perspective and training. Dr. Wakefield, a practicing British gastroenterologist, dared to publicly question the safety of the MMR vaccination in 1998.

Wakefield observed that his pediatric gastroenterology patients suffered specific inflammatory bowel issues and developed symptoms of autism following the MMR vaccine. Wakefield was not anti-vaccine, but simply recommended single vaccinations as opposed to the combination MMR vaccine, which included three separate vaccinations. Continue reading
