Health and food choices must be won to improve American health

Fall 2014 029The deterioration of individual freedoms to make personal health care decisions and access safe foods has progressively worsened in the last 30 years. Highly adulterated processed foods, mandated vaccinations and widespread pharmaceutical drug use are harming American health and the fabric of our society.

Childhood and adult diseases, including asthma, auto-immune disorders, cancer, mental illness, obesity and diabetes, have skyrocketed. Genetics cannot explain these unprecedented disease increases, although that is what medical institutions want us to believe. Environmental toxins and modern day malnutrition are largely to blame for our current disease epidemic.

Crime rates and violence, including school shootings and murder, have become a common, yet unacceptable part of our nation’s life. Incidents of violence have been correlated with rising mental illness rates and use of SSRI drugs, along with street drug use.

Vaccinations, drugs, food and water are dangerous

Vaccines contain multiple poisonous substances including mercury and aluminum. The massive, increasing vaccination requirements for public school attendance, military participation and hospital employment has caused immeasurable health damage. Prescription drug use is considered to be the third leading cause of death.

Processed, chemical-laden foods, water, soil and air further contribute to illness. The fluoridation of water supplies across the nation is destructive to health. The American Dental Association approves and continues the use of mercury and other toxic dental fillings, damaging health and flying in the face of all safety studies. Government-approved and subsidized genetically modified foods have damaged human and animal health, our food and water supply and the environment in irreversible ways. Our governments’ approval of aspartame, sucralose, MSG, high-fructose corn syrup, food additives, colorings, preservatives, pesticides, BPA can linings and other dangerous aspects of processed food contribute to health problems. The FDA and other government bodies have largely failed to protect us from dangerous healthcare protocols and adulterated food and water.

The institutionalization of standard practice medicine

Once sick, those seeking medical care are then limited in their health choices. Pharmaceutical companies influence the American Medical Association in their creation of standard practice medicine guidelines. These guidelines are followed by insurance companies to determine eligibility for reimbursement. This process alone greatly limits the health choices for most Americans. When confronted with a disease, individuals will receive reimbursement for healthcare choices largely based on use of conventional medicine practice. Allopathic medicine includes some of the most expensive and ineffective protocols including lifelong prescription drug use, surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation.

Comparing actual holistic and conventional protocols’ costs side by side, holistic approaches are often far less expensive and more effective. Unfortunately, the effort required to find holistic providers and the out-of-pocket costs involved for alternative treatments are prohibitive for most. In worst case scenarios, parents have been prevented by government agencies to use alternative treatments for children.

Pursuing holistic healthcare requires financial means and an open mind to treatments unfamiliar to most, requiring a learning curve. Most people don’t really believe that they have any viable alternatives to what standard practice offers. In reality, many can only access standard conventional medicine.

Solutions and successes

Information is power. Each individual must take personal responsibility for their health and start by educating themselves on health foods and treatment choices. The informational sources below are excellent resources for this.

Citizens must continue to join forces to fight and win food and health freedoms at a local level. These fights include labeling and banning GMO foods, removing fluoridation from water municipalities, increasing access to raw dairy by changing state laws, increasing vaccine exemptions, decreasing state medical board powers, protecting organic foods and outlawing the use of mercury in amalgams.
