With cold and flu season approaching, it is important to have in mind safe, natural remedies as well as prevention tips. My family in the past has successfully fought colds and bronchitis with the following favorite natural approaches. They are much safer than going to a conventional physician, who will likely recommend a prescription antibiotic which can destroy good gut flora, leading to a litany of other health problems down the road. Antibiotics should be reserved for true health emergencies, not for more common illnesses. Continue reading
Our country is overwhelmed with chronic diseases including cancer, heart disease, auto-immune disorders and diabetes. Many of these illnesses can be prevented and treated with nutrition and reduction of toxins. [2-5] Nutrition and toxic overload are areas of health largely ignored by the conventional health industry. Instead, every disease imaginable, including cancer, diabetes and auto-immune disorders, is being targeted for development of a new vaccination. [6-7]
Unfortunately, vaccinations have never been proven safe or effective in preventing disease. [8-9]
This vaccine expansion program is even more misguided, when one considers the fact that many of these same diseases have been causally linked to vaccinations. [10-11] To complicate matters more, preventive care is often not covered by health insurance which focuses more on sick care. However, many safe, free or low cost health protocols can be implemented by almost everyone, independent of our health care system.
What follows are 8 strategies for taking charge of your health, including the first essential recommendation to avoid toxic vaccinations. Continue reading
Our health care system is now based on a pharmaceutical model of care with a strong emphasis on vaccinations. In the 1800s, homeopathic and nutritional health care approaches successfully treated many people who suffered during disease epidemics. Orthodox medical treatments were dangerous and comparatively less successful in treating patients.
Great divides existed between orthodox and homeopathic physicians. The attempt to suppress homeopathic medicine was accelerated in 1910 with the Flexner Report, influenced by the funding by John D. Rockefeller and Andrew Carnegie. In effect, healthcare in the US was bought out and successful homeopathic physicians disallowed from further practice. This important change led to safe, inexpensive treatments being forced to the fringe of mainstream medicine, a practice which remains in effect today.
Understanding healthcare’s past can assist in better comprehending the obstacles and difficulties faced in today’s very slanted pharmaceutical and vaccine-based model of healthcare. Continue reading
Lose dose naltrexone, an alternative use of the FDA approved drug naltrexone, has been proven to be a low cost, safe treatment for a wide range of illnesses. Impressive clinical case studies and research support the use of LDN to treat Multiple Sclerosis, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Fybromyalgia, cancer and AIDs. The number of diseases successfully treated with LDN has grown substantially in the last several years, to include most neurological and nervous system disorders. Continue reading
Exercising is an important part of prevention and good health. In my guest blog today for Kelly the Kitchen Kop I share information about the tremendous health benefits of intensive interval type exercise to increase lung and heart capacity. Interval training also reduces insulin resistance and helps to lose weight. Continue reading
The cholesterol debate is one of the most highly divisive issues separating the practices of holistic and conventional medicine. The vast majority of conventional physicians, now following the new American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines, continue to routinely recommend dangerous statin drugs based on total and LDL cholesterol numbers, along with other guidelines. In stark contrast, holistically trained physicians do not prescribe statins and instead look at individual cholesterol numbers and inflammatory markers, ignored by most allopathic physicians.
A young high school student experienced debilitating symptoms of stomach pain, weight loss, inflammation, fatigue and anemia. A young man experienced a persistent cough and repeated upper respiratory infections. A college freshman struggled with fatigue, bloating and dizziness. A practicing nurse suffered from debilitating rheumatoid arthritis. A college student struggled with symptoms mirroring an unusual autoimmune disorder. Their symptoms were all quite different, but these individuals shared one thing in common. Each had a hidden cavitation infection in the jaw bone area of the molar or wisdom teeth. Continue reading
Active Release Technique, also known as ART, provides an effective alternative treatment for soft tissue and nerve damage injuries. Commonly treated injuries include plantar fasciitis, carpal tunnel syndrome and tennis elbow. These injuries are often treated by conventional medicine with steroid injections and surgeries, with long recovery times. The use of the targeted massage treatment known as ART can significantly shorten healing time for these injuries. Continue reading
Recipes for raw dairy, fish and meat exist in almost every country. Their power to heal are well known in endemic cultures. Weston Price discovered that isolated groups thrived for centuries eating their local nutrient dense diets, included raw foods. Pottenger proved conclusively the power of raw food diets to ensure the health of generations of cats. Holistic practitioners today recognize the healing ability of raw foods. Continue reading
My New Blog
I have wanted to start this blog for over a year. I love to write, but was overwhelmed by the technical aspects of my own blog. I forged ahead because I have an overwhelming need to share what I believe is life saving health information. Yes, there are other websites and blogs out there, but I want to add my two cents to the conversation. The more voices that are raised and heard, the better it will be for those seeking important information on alternative health care and holistic nutrition. Continue reading
